FEAR? I’ve been a leader in direct sales for almost 27 years, and that is one word that I’ve never struggled with until now. As things are changing in the business-sales world at such a rapid pace, I’ve found myself getting paralyzed and missing opportunities due to fear. In John Thurman’s book, The No-Fear Entrepreneur, he identifies the thought process and the causes and effects of fear. This book, by far, has the most practical solutions to help us unlock and conquer our most common fears. Don and I have known John for more than twenty-five years, and he brings such a unique perspective as both a mental health professional and entrepreneur. I highly recommend this book!

What a terrific, positive, inspiring book! Packed with moving stories, challenging perspectives, and stimulating Bible studies, The No-Fear Entrepreneur will appeal to entrepreneurs (and their long-suffering spouses). Perhaps not all, but certainly those, like me, who struggle against fear and think ourselves lacking some brain cells or a necessary faith switch. Thurman says, no, we’re very healthy, and he offers us some tips to plow through and find success. Anyone strong enough to admit that their fears often immobilize them from reaching the success they desire will read this book without stopping. Thurman’s style is confident, honest, assertive, faithful to biblical teaching, and includes a healthy dose of pragmatic science. As both a therapist and an entrepreneur, Thurman speaks as an authority. He helps his readers understand the roots of those nagging, hated, irrational fears. He goes on to offer simple, satisfying studies and exercises to get past the halting fears and make that next call, submit that next proposal, or get back up one more time, which is often the key to achievement, don’t you agree? If you’re entrepreneurial and merely investigating Christianity, this book offers some deep points to consider. The idea that God is for you, and wants you to overcome the negative aspects of fear, maybe just the refreshing insight you seek. Believer or skeptic, I highly recommend John Thurman’s The No-Fear Entrepreneur.

Every day, I work with businesses and ministries that are stuck. They are stuck not because of a lack of finances, a lack of customers, or a lack of talent, but stuck in paralyzing fear of the “but what ifs.” This fear is keeping brilliant people not only stuck but falling further and further behind. In his book The No-Fear Entrepreneur, John Thurman gets to the root of that fear for entrepreneurs and fights it with research, logic, and inspiring stories of the people who have recognized the fear and finally, done something about it. If you’re stuck, this is the book to get you moving forward.
